OralDNA Salivary Diagnostics
OralDNA® Salivary Diagnostics: Knowing What Lives in Your Mouth
OralDNA® testing reveals what traditional exams can’t — the invisible bacteria, viruses, and genetic markers in your saliva that may affect both oral and whole-body health. It’s noninvasive, powerful, and helps Dr. Golden design more precise, personalized care.
OralDNA® uses a simple 30‑second rinse and spit sample to detect harmful oral pathogens and genetic susceptibilities. The results provide insight into your risk for gum disease, oral infections, and connections with systemic conditions like cardiovascular disease or metabolic disorders.

The sample is sent to a specialized lab where DNA sequencing identifies bacterial species known to cause periodontal disease.
A companion test (MyPerioID®) evaluates your genetic risk for inflammatory responses linked to gum disease.
Dr. Golden reviews the report with you and tailors treatments based on which pathogens are present and your personal risk profile.
OralDNA testing can reveal the presence and severity of high-risk bacteria—such as Porphyromonas gingivalis, Tannerella, and Treponema—that are known contributors to gum disease. It can also identify whether you carry specific genetic markers, like IL‑6, that may increase your susceptibility to inflammation. In addition, the test helps assess your overall risk for serious systemic conditions connected to oral pathogens, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, and pregnancy-related complications.
Knowing your oral microbiome gives Dr. Golden data—not guesswork—to guide antimicrobial strategies, avoid overtreatment, and monitor progress over time. It’s precision care that looks deeper than what’s visible.
